East Village radio (05/04/25) featured a piece on Rock sub-genre’s from a Bandcamp Daily feature on Chile. Our selections come from the daily article rather than the East Village show itself.
The first selection is Regional Sur by Panorama Local from the album Demo
The 2nd selection is meta/mórfosis by Phuyu y la fantasma from the album Anticuecas Subterráneas. Rodrigo Romero of the band explains that “Antiquecas Subterráneas” is the result of the effort I made to revitalize the type of traditional/avant-garde composition that Violeta Parra developed (along with other posthumous works “Composición Para Guitarra”), pieces of great influence in my life.”
Another eclectic selection on The Wired’s On Air presented this time by Joseph Stannard. These selections are from the 8th May show.
The first track is 13th Floor by Column258 from the album Interloper (The Workshop Sessions Vol.1), Column258’s website describes the music as “Blending analogue and digital, from found objects and samples, from horns to korgs, hypnotic guitars weave through inventive song cycles.”
Finally Luchadores Sudden Embrace by Alberto Novello & Rob Mazurek from the album Sun Eaters. Born of a chance encounter, Alberto Novello and Rob Mazurek’s improvised collaboration, Sun Eaters, was recorded in a single afternoon at Dobialab, an experimental artist run space in Northern Italy.
